Mission Committe Meeting Minutes
April 17th, 2007
The Mission Committee of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church met at 5:30 p.m. on April 17, 2007. Members present were the Reverend David Lemburg, Warden Celeste Sicard, Marilyn Vockroth, Terry Rielley, Larry Coleman, and Mary Weems. Ginger Coleman was also present.
Father David presented the Parochial Report. He noted there were 72 members reported last year, but he could account for only 51 persons on the member list. It was decided that we would update the member list and create a database to keep the list current. The report was corrected, signed, and will be submitted to the Diocese.
Ella Tardy had reported to Father David before the meeting that the financial report is good with collections and pledges adequate. Father David reported on expenditures from the discretionary fund. The monthly income and expenditures report was presented with no specific questions or comments.
Father David has tentatively scheduled the following priests for the dates he will not be present:
May 20 Chuck Culpepper
June 24 Jennifer Deaton
July 22 Jennifer Deaton
August 26 Jennifer Deaton
September 23 Jennifer Deaton
July 29 and September 30, both 5th Sundays of the month, will be Morning Prayer.
It was discussed that special plans should be considered for Trinity Sunday on June 3.
Mary reported that she had talked with a representative from Southern Bell. We can get monthly phone service for $45 if we sign a three-year contract. Ginger reported that she would get a quote to renew the Diocesan sign and a quote to replace/refurbish the sign for the front of the church. She will also frame the pictures of past bishops for the church office.
It was reported that the current renters in the vicarage might move. Celeste will contact Stockett Realty about selling the house.
Larry reported that roof shingles are coming off. He will get estimates for replacing the roof with both metal roofing material and shingles.
Father David reported on his meeting with the Bishop. The Bishop discussed current issues concerning the church and confirmed his pledge to work with everyone on all of the issues.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:45.
